Work

People need to pay their rent, food, and utilities in order to survive. These are considered wild animal rights such as a food supply, a den, and energy that can include sunlight, water, certain plants, and exercise.

Humans that have experienced the conditions of industrialization normally need work to pay for utilities such as electricity or natural gas, and clothes. Excercise can sometimes be replaced or reduced through the use of electronics like a television, computer, or device which requires electricity.

Beyond these wild animal rights, humans normally want to socialize with other humans. Which is something wild animals are able to do also. This is done in workplaces ocassionally, school for those that are young or in job training, and through entertainment such as theater, movies shows, venues, concerts, events, traveling, tourism, accomodations and non work or school interactions. This requires a self managed time schedule for interactions.

For some bars and restuarants are a group activity but this is being discouraged because it can lead to overeating and alcoholism. Bars are nice as a group activity to bring down bacteria levels and restuarants can work for nutrition, intake monitoring, and trying new foods that are seen in magazines or recipe books.

Work is a requirement to pay for all these things including gifts, dating, and transportation expenses to visit friends and family.

The jobs will vary from person to person and its a lot easier to switch jobs now. Organizations ask that workers be familiar with work schedules and to not leave work or switch jobs in the middle of a project.

These projects can last from a few months to several years and well liked workers can continue to sign up for new projects or come back after being away for some time.

Amenities

These are an important part of selecting a living situation. Some places will have mostly restaurants that are economical and low costs and other places will have groceries stores no more than 10 miles from another grocery store. Other places will vary and have a mix of restuarants and groceries or have only restaurants that are priced as is and not concerned with the population budgets. They may also discourage overeating or having more than 2 plates per day across all the restaurants.

Besides food, other amenities can vary such as affordable plane tickets, travel network passes, and exercise areas with gyms, pools, and weight stations. Other places have internet cafe's, high quality shopping centers with good variety, or local attractions like theme parks, laser tag, planned activities, or activity routes.

Banking, healthcare, and financial planning are also considered amenities because a checking account and over the counter medications are necessities. More than that is an amenity.

After paying bills and reviewing the left over wages for time off and fun stuff, amenities are the highest priority item in selecting a home.

Socialization

During time off from work or school, people will want to socialize with other humans in order to feel healthy, cared for, and like they are part of the environment. Having amenities is important, but having people at those amenities that are willing to talk to others is also desired.

This is because modern workplaces are work focused, even if coworkers are friendly, organizations often discourage making to many friends at work. They don't want the friendships to affect work performance or for people to quit over bad friendships. Outside the workplace they can just stop talking to each other but within organizations, that's not always possible, especially if the place is small.

Having places to go near the home to socialize is a high priority that comes after available workplaces and amenities. The default is staying inside watching television, doing book clubs, or doing activities like board games. Most of this has been replaced by online virtual environments for places that have a low volume of socialization activities or for places where the person doesn't fit in well with whats available.

Planning

People don't just want to live somewhere nice that they like. They want the place to remain nice over time or receive notice, considered of 1-2 years. That the place is changing and the town is re-organizing or people are moving to other areas that are more similar to what they agreed to when they moved in.

This requires good planning and a notification system that is accessible. Not everyone will want to receive alerts on a technology device. Phone calls, email, or town squares can all work for notifications on how the town is changing and plans for updated amenities, more living areas, additional businesses, or communication networks that will be part of the town.

Web portals are also popular as communication system that has replaced the town square for notices and information. It reduces printing and doesn't need to be updated if the information hasn't changed. It can be redesigned periodically for content or visual appearance as needed to keep the site interesting and it can be restricted to only visible within the town.

Learning

When people think of learning, they often think of what is referred to as training in the U.S. What does the towns learning network look like? If someone in the town doesn't know how to do something planned or important, how long will it take to learn the missing concepts and certify a good quality for the towns equipment, infrastructure, and buildings? Will it take 15 years to learn new concepts or will it be less than 2-3 years on average?

Its important to think of learning, knowledge exchange, concept comprehension, and access to materials or libraries when thinking of a good place to live.
