Examining Older Humans

Older humans may be 3-5 times older than a young teenager. This means that a human that is 35 to slightly over 60 years old, has been on Earth for three to five lifetimes when compared to a young teenager.

In the past these differences were not so obvious. Teenagers were rarely seen with anyone older than thirty, unless it was their parents or close family members. Increased health in humans has changed this quite a bit.

A 60 year old when they were young, around 10 years old, may have looked at a 60 year old back then, and they would be comparing them to someone over the age of 90 today on average. This is because people look younger, are healthier and require less medical attention as they age. Many 70 to 90 year olds today don't look older than a 60 year old from 50 years ago.

Similarly, a lot of 30 to 50 year olds still look like they are in their twenties. Many people live over 100 now which was rare, even 30 years ago.

Even 30 years ago, in the early 2000s, not many people expected to live past 70. Today people are retiring at 35 and expecting to live somewhere between 85 and mid nineties. This means, a portion of our world has adults that will need very little income or have completely removed the concept of money from their societies.

When examining older people and thinking about their needs and necessities, its often only necessary to type the requirements into the computer. The computer figures out if they need more money, are eligible for a grant, or if the request can be completed with work orders and confirmation of service.

This doesn't mean that money is not important or a requirement for those under 50, in many places, it has still not vanished, and even though it has changed in concept; digital payments or computerized transactions are still required to meet necessities and requirements in human environments. The computer figures most of this out for the humans.

Older humans may need medical care, even if its not extensive, they may need to visit a doctor at least once in a while. They also need food supplies and those will vary depending on things like what their ancestors ate, what foods were available throughout their life, and the food supplies that are available at that moment.

Older humans also need housing, and their economic systems might not be realistic of the economic systems for younger humans. Land grants were replaced by mortgages, then rent, then room sharing, and now a mix of room sharing rent, and offers to buy on a short term purchase. Someone that is on a program that is no longer available may not be able to move if it is required.

Humans move all the time, a lot more than they used to. Its easy to do so, and very rarely an inconvenience. This means that areas can depopulate for no reason leaving a place with few jobs, small food supplies, and no government workers.

Older humans often need to be examined for health assessment, food availability, housing situation, and connections to other humans. Its important to ask about how they perceive the world and compare it to how the world works for younger humans which are normally 20 to 30 year olds finding their way in life and their place on Earth.
